katie's classroom is doing their own version of american idol this week. katie has gotten through the first 2 rounds, singing a different song each time. tomorrow is round 3 - good luck katie! she will be singing colbie caillat's "realize".

yesterday, lacey decided to make herself a little drink. she poured some lemon juice in a cup & then added some water & sugar. she kept doing this, hoping for the right combination, but was never successful. after i noticed my feet to sticking to the kitchen floor, i put a stop to the project and sent lacey to the table to drink her recipe. "but mom", she said, "i can't drink this. it's really sour & needs more sugar. can you put some sugar in my drink for me?" i reluctantly agreed, resisting the urge to pour the creation down the drain. then she gave me some very helpful advice. "the sugar is over there in that 2nd container on the counter." gee thanks lace - she has no idea how often i get sugar out of that cannister does she?

is anyone else having a crazy week? we have sooooo much going on. there's that really cool thing i'm doing, plus dance recital rehearsals, a soccer tournament, school parties, and more - just a big week - and then . . . one more week of school and summer begins - i am not ready this year!
