I sense that some of my blogging friends my be tired of my serious blog posts as of late, so here's a fun one for y'all!
On President's Day, our family finally went on a little field trip to the coolest place that has been in town for almost a year. It is the Springs Preserve, a peaceful and wonderful nature preserve located smack dab in the middle of town, right across the street from the Meadows Mall. As strange as it sounds, I have always had a love of the desert and an appreciation for its beauty that is not always apparent. The Springs Preserve confirmed my sentiments, and I highly recommend it to anyone who lives here or is visiting. It is thoroughly entertaining and interesting for kids & adults. I know we will definitely be going back. There is an abundance of activities both indoors & outdoors as well as nature hikes & gardens. You can also get delicious food at the Wolfgang Puck Cafe, which is where we started our little adventure. One of the highlights of our field trip was the mock flash flood that you can experience in the museum. You get to see and feel water crashing down through a canyon - pretty cool, though not the easiest exhibit for picture taking.
Hanging out with the pioneer statues in the museum
Getting energized at the play area
Our walk through the gardens
Our day is done! That was so cool!
Anyone want to take a guess at which photo is my favorite?

This looks like a really fun place. We will have to go sometime. I think all the photos are great. My favorite is the last one, and maybe the one of Katie with the statue? I don't know that is hard. They are all really cute photos!

We have been planning a trip down there for a while(if we can ever get a free saturday! BTW LaRae, I found this website and you should check it out www.blurb.com. You can "slurp" your blog and make a hard or softcover book out of your blog. It is awesome (and reasonably priced), I'm working on a vacation book. So Fun, I thought of you instantly when I found it because you need to have a book with all of your amazing posts.
What a cool place, I would love to take the kids there next time I come down! I am not sick of your serious blog entries either.
We will have to do this the next time we're in Vegas. I don't know how you could pick a favorite with so many great photos!
I live literally 1.5 miles from the entrance of the Preserve, but have been waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer and things to start blooming before I go. I am glad to see it is as beautiful as I had hoped and that your family had fun!
one other comment - the picture with Katie standing next to the statue with her hands on her hip - the statue looks a bit like Joseph Smith.
