Pruning

Don't be sad, tree.
I know you may feel naked and embarrassed, but those limbs had to go.

They were weakened and sagging from that winter storm you were not prepared to handle.

Storms come. They may weaken us in spots.
And then the pruning begins.

The weakened branches have to go.
So don't be sad, tree.

I understand you may not feel like yourself. You don't even look like yourself.
You are probably missing those branches that were a part of you.

Though you don't know it, sometimes the pruning is necessary.
It will help you become yet stronger and more beautiful.

Trust me.

I speak from experience.
Don't be sad, tree.

I wish the pruning wasn't so painful, but I know it needs to be. Thanks for this great message.

I absolutely love the photo of your pruned tree. And your post was positively poetic!
