Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express. ~Joseph Addison
Words cannot express how thankful I am that my daughters and Ben have a dad like Brad. He is kind and loving, dedicated and strong. Happy Father's Day, Brad!
I missed being with my dad on Father's Day, but at the same time, was very thankful that we could be with Brad's family. It was such a relaxing day full of family togetherness - visiting, laughing, cousins playing, eating good food. In fact, it was such a great day that Brad decided we should stay for the entire day & go home on Monday morning (when our original plan was to go home on Sunday afternoon). We all agreed!
Father's Day morning began with our Wallace Family favorite - Swedish pancakes. Ken's siblings & several of their children came as well - to continue our family reunion.
Father's day afternoon -
- cousins riding bikes between grandma & granddads, the Wallaces, and the Iroz'
- dads watching the US Open - go Tiger!
- 2 year olds napping
- moms preparing food for our Italian dinner feast at the Iroz'
Granddad volunteered to show Ben his fly rod and Ben was very excited to give it a try. Could we have another fly fisherman in the family?
Every Father's Day I like to get a picture of Brad with his kids. It was difficult to get everyone together during the day because the kids were all scattered playing with cousins at different houses, so I had to wait for the photo until the evening. By this point, Madi was not feeling well (trying to endure an annoying summer cold) and Katie was upset about having to go home the next morning. So - they were not up for picture taking at all! Of course, that didn't matter to me & I was going to get my picture! So I gave it a try . . .
. . . and after a 3rd time, I just knew I was going to get what I got so I just had to be satisfied with the results. Madi & Katie appear to be in a torture chamber, but they really do love their dad!

Dear LaRae! Thank you, thank you for the wonderful photographs and memories of our time together with Grace's funeral and Father's Day. It all seemed a blur at the time, but now it comes into focus because of your thoughtfulness. We love and appreciate you so very much. Judy & Ken
Happy Father's Day to Brad! A father surrounded by his children, in any kind of mood, is a beautiful picture! :)
