If you read my blog post from yesterday, you know that I have been perplexed by the little mysteries that seem to emerge on a regular basis. I have another mystery that I have been wondering about - why do you get a little song in your head & once it is there, it doesn't seem to want to leave? Our ward choir has been practicing the song "We Need a Little Christmas" to sing at our Christmas party on Friday night. Well, that little song has been wedged in my brain for several weeks now, & I find myself singing it at very random times throughout each day.
But truthfully, I do need a little Christmas about now. I have enjoyed Lesli's blog lately because it looks so "Christmasy". I wanted to bring a little Christmas spirit to my blog world, so I copied Lesli's photo idea (of the ornament & tree) and here you go! Are you doing anything fun to get into the Christmas spirit? I would love to hear your ideas. I have been listening to Christmas music as often as I think of it, and I have also been decorating up a storm & will hopefully share some pictures with you in a later post. I still have so many things to share from November - so much blogging to do & so little time to do it - a true blogging dilemma!
Take a peek at this little movie (of last year's Christmas with the Wallaces) & maybe you'll have "We Need a Little Christmas" constantly buzzing around in your head, too. (the movie is a bit long, and not as fun to watch in a little tiny screen, so if you get bored of looking at pictures of my family & want to quit watching, I more than understand!)

LaRae~ Great Christmas video! I love the Christmas feel of the blog:) I can't believe how much older all the kids look now from the video. Little Ben in the Santa suit! It's just crazy how fast they all change... I need to Christmas up my blog:)
Hey Larae, its Becca Church. I love looking at your blog. I have had that song in my head forever also. I also sing the other songs at random times too. I love Christmas music though so its ok. YOu kids are adorable!!
Thank you for that holiday post. Tomorrow I start my Christmas vacation and am looking forward to decorating this weekend cuz I need a little Christmas, right this very moment. The Christmas Spirit is a bit slow to arrive this year.
I liked your video, and no, I did not get bored one bit. I watched the entire six minutes and three seconds. Do the kids in your family do a nativity scene every year? Was that Christmas Eve? Those pictures of your kids asleep were really cute. I can't believe they slept through the flash.
Judy - thanks for watching my video! I just watched it again for fun, but then, they are my kids!
The pictures were from throughout the Christmas season, but the ones with my siblings & parents were taken on Christmas Eve. We always read the Christmas story from Luke 2 on Christmas Eve, though we haven't acted it out every year. One year we used a nativity set & let the kids put out a different piece as we talked about each participant in the "Christmas Story". A few years ago Brad's brother Casey & his wife, Aimee gave us the cute nativity story costumes and we have used in some way every year since we received them. Luckily, Phillip little girl, Kara, wanted to be Joseph - since we are a bit short in the boy area around here.
Hope you are getting in the Christmas spirit this weekend!
I have a bone to pick with you, LaRae. I have had "Need a Little Christmas" stuck in my head since Thursday. I usually have "Feliz Navidad" stuck in my head this time of year, but now, right this very moment, I need a little Christmas.
I love the Christmas movie. It makes me sad that we are so far away, and don't get to join in the festivities! I loved that picture of you and Phillip. That was just really neat. He had a great smile. Little Ben Ben has changed so much...don't they change so quickly from little babies to little people? You will have to do a movie for this year too. I must say the best part about the movie is you miss the crabby children, the fighting, and all the chaos, and just get all the sentimental good stuff of Christmas!!!! (am I sounding too cynical this morning?)
