A Father's Day Feast for the Dads

I am feeling a bit guilty because father's day was a week & a half ago & I still have not posted anything about it on my blog. This would not be a big deal if it weren't for my week-long series of posts all about mother's day. Though the dad's haven't gotten any "blog time" yet, in my opinion, they were still honored on their day! We had a family Mexican fiesta at my house just for the dads. I asked for their requests & made shredded beef enchiladas, marinated flank steak, and "savory" chicken (as described by my brother Mike), refried beans, and Mexican rice all for my guys. My sister-in-laws brought homemade salsa, guacamole, chips, dessert, & all the other "essential extras" like cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. We could have fed 5 other families with all the food! Everything was homemade with love & everything tasted so good. I also gave all the boys a little "party favor". They all got a Coke glass filled with a variety of M&M's & this little card. Cheesy, but fun, and they all were happy with the M&M's & the Coke glass!

Here are a few other pictures from the evenings festivities:

that's Katie at the end of the island - love her impromptu pose!

Brad chose to hang out at the kids table in the kitchen - it looks like only Lacey knew I was taking this picture - silly girl!

Poppy & Ryan sharing a "moment"

Here are all the guys - aren't they CUTE?

The guys officially did not have to help with clean up on Father's Day. They all spent a little time hanging out in the living room. I love that Phillip's little girl Annalise was perfectly content to be plopped down in the center of all these boys.

I think I have a picture of Ben with Uncle Mike at every family gathering we have ever had. This may be a particularly momentous gathering for Uncle Mike. In this picture he is wearing Brad's new shirt he got for Father's Day because Mike's shirt had poop on it from when he went to get Ben up from his nap & was greeted with a wonderful surprise. Yuck!! Mike actually took his own shirt out to the back yard & hosed it off.

Although the menu sounds like it was really yummy, what caught my eye was the great dishes the food was held in. Glad you had a great time.
