to celebrate dr. seuss day . . .

. . . here is my all time favorite poem of dr. seuss. i memorized it when i was in college & have loved it ever since!

today you are you
it is true-er than true
there is no one alive who is you-er than you
shout aloud I am glad to be what I am
thank goodness i'm not a clam or a ham
or a dusty old jar of gooseberry jam
i am what i am what a great thing to be
if i say so myself
happy everyday to me!


i'll bet some of you didn't even know it was dr. seuss day! don't you just love dr. seuss! one the first books i ever remember being read to me was "one fish two fish red fish blue fish" & i remember my sister loving "green eggs & ham" - timeless literature!


the girls celebrated dr. suess day at school by dressing up as dr. seuss characters, making & eating green eggs & ham, and reading dr. seuss stories. it was a happy day!
