Spring is in the air

As I have been enjoying the spring weather over the past 2 weeks, I thought back to my life on BYU campus around this time of year. I can just see myself walking around with my 6'9" friend, Colin, and he would look across campus from his towering vantage point and boisterously shout "Spring is in the air". Yes, after a winter in Provo, you could almost feel the excitement in the air at the first glimpse of spring. I remember girls heading outside to lay out even when there was still snow on the ground - as long as the weather was sunny and in the 50's, out they would come. I thought they were crazy! Spring will never be 50 degree weather to me, unless I happen to move to the Arctic! Now, as a mom, I find that as soon as the weather starts to warm up (70's for us - yes, we're wimps), out the kids want to come on their bikes & scooters to enjoy the sunshine & outdoors. Incidentally, Lacey has become quite a pro on her scooter just after a couple of weeks of practice. I am impressed.

Last week the kids & I went on a few after-school strolls around the neighborhood. Every spring I tell myself that I need to take a picture of this tree, which always look so beautiful, and I always miss it because the blossoms don't last for more than a few days. Well, this year I got my picture, and it's a good thing because this week, those blossoms are gone!
Here are a couple other pictures we took while on our walk - I'm sure you can tell by looking at them that "spring is in the air".
