If there is one thing my siblings & I have in common - it's daughters. The Zobrist family is heavy laden with girl cousins - so much so that my parents are building a girls' bunkroom on to their cabin. In fact, a new baby granddaughter was just born in the Zobrist family on February 1st to my youngest brother, Jared & his wife Katie.
Here is beautiful Ella
Our girl to boy ratio in the Zobrist family is now 15:4 - just for fun - let's look at the ratio of girls to boys for each of my siblings as of February 2007 -
LaRae 3:1, Dawnae 2:2, Phillip 4:0, Janae 5:0, Mike 0:0, Jared 1:1
Crazy, huh?!
I love having daughters. In fact, before Ben was born I seriously could not even think about having a boy. When I was pregnant I couldn't look at boy clothes & little boys always seemed so foreign to me. Of course that's changed now, but I feel it is an honor as well as a tremendous responsibility to raise daughters. They are the future mothers of the generation yet to be born. I hope that I can instill the values in my daughters that they will then use to help shape the generations to come.
Mothering daughters is a . . .
joyful, emotional, patience-trying,
wonderful, amazing, challenging,
thought-provoking, fun, fulfilling,
hard, easy, mind-boggling, awesome,
soul-searching, faith-requiring
confidence-shaking, fantastic, crazy,
roller-coaster riding, adventurous, sad,
happy, silly, intellectually stimulating,
time-consuming, creativity-requiring, scary,
but mostly joyful
experience!!
and who said motherhood wasn't a worthwhile
& personally challenging career?
