An historic day in the Wallace family

November 1st is an historic day in the Wallace household for that is the day our first beautiful daughter was born, changing our lives forever!

November 1st, 1995 - 12 years ago today - Madi was born! Oh how I remember the details of that day. I remember the first pains of labor & calling the dr. to see if we should go to the hospital. I remember going to the hospital in white shorts & flip flops at midnight! I was so excited, but so scared at the same time. I remember the hours of waiting for her to arrive, so thankful for an epidural! I remember Brad coming to me after he had gone to the nursery with her & telling me about our strong and beautiful and healthy baby. The delivery was not easy & she had to go to the neonatal unit for a while, but Brad eased all my worries as he told me about out little miracle. I remember having my mother there, while having chemotherapy treatments, so happy to be there and not thinking for a minute about her own discomforts. When I was pregnant with Madi and we found out that my mom had cancer, I remember just praying that she would be here for the important moments of my baby's life - like her birth, her baptism, her wedding, and more! Well, here we are 12 years later & my mom hasn't missed a minute of Madi's life! I am stunned when I think that Madi is 12. I can't believe it, yet I know it is so. I cannot help but tear up as I think through Madi's life & reflect on the times that we have enjoyed together these past 12 years. She is no longer a little girl, which is sad for a mom, but I am excited to get to know the beautiful young woman she is becoming. Brad & I are so blessed to be Madi's parents.

Happy birthday to Madi. I think she looks so pretty in this picure. She is definitely looking more like a "young woman" now. I almost can't believe I just wrote that... so weird! I can tell you that the J. Zobrist family loves her very much and we wish her the best birthday ever!
