More cousin fun

I hope that my children will have lifelong memories of the fun they had with their cousins during the summers of their childhood. Every summer we have plenty of opportunities to spend time with cousins, and this summer has been no exception. You already know about cousin camp with the Zobrist cousins - Well, during the end of July we got to be with our Wallace cousins in Woodland. There is certainly no shortage of cousins in our family! There are cousins the same ages as my kids on both sides of the family, and I love that there is "someone for everyone". On the Wallace side . . .

Ben has Elle - Elle is one month older - don't you think they kind of look alike with all that curly blonde hair? What could be cuter?

Lacey has Hannah - Hannah is 2 months older (born on Katie's birthday). I may be biased - but are they beauties or what?! Obviously these two share a love of babies. They love to play house together.

Katie has Jacob & Jeffrey - all born the same year - Jacob is 8 months older & Jeffrey is 1 month younger. When we first visit with our cousins in Woodland, Katie usually ends up playing with the girls Madi's age. When I suggest that she play with the boys, she looks at me like I'm crazy. But, as time wears on, Katie ends up gravitating to the boys, and always has a ton of fun. I love when she plays with her boy cousins because they bring out the fun-loving Katie. They have such a good time together. Something tells me that when they get to be teenagers, they will hang out & talk & really enjoy each other's company! I also can't forget Jaxon! He's not in the picture below, but he's another cousin buddy to Katie. Katie is 1 year older than Jaxon. Jaxon is very sweet to Katie & I can tell that he really enjoys her company.
Jeffrey

Madi has Josie & Rachel & Rebecca. (Rebecca does not live in Woodland and wasn't there during out visit, but we can't forget her! - Madi & Rebecca spent an afternoon together not too long ago & I wish I would have thought to take a few pictures.) Madi is 1 month older than Rachel & 6 months (to the day) older than Rebecca. Josie is almost 2 years older than Madi.

So - could someone please tell me when these three . . .

Josie, Madi, Rachel

became these three . . .

Rachel, Madi, & Josie

Madi loves her time with Josie & Rachel. They get so silly & giggly together. That's obvious by these pictures, I do believe. They like to play on the computer together, do crafts together, and go shopping with grandma together. When not together, they chat on the computer. Sometimes they get in little "spats", like girls tend to do, but then they always make up & are happy cousins once again.

I hope that my children & their cousins will be lifelong friends. These are relationships to preserve & appreciate!

It feels redundant to keep saying, "Wow, what great pictures!" But, here I go again, "Wow, what great pictures!" You really are a people photographer!

I love the name Jaxon, never heard it before.

The picture of Lacey and her cousin with all the dolls will be great to have when those two are grown and holding babies and you can get the "after" shot.

The Madi trilogy is cute. Although I've never met Madi she reminds me of Micalanne's daughter, Bethany, a great, smart, friendly, on the ball girl.

I have a billion cousins, too, and love it. My son has a lot of cousins who ADORE him (he's the oldest) on my side of the family, but on his dad's side of the family he's the only one so he gets LOTS of attention there! Best of both worlds, I guess.

Can't wait for the Hawaii pictures!

Great cousin pictures! It truly is fun to have cousins ones age. I am amazed at Josie (she reminds me so much of Jill just looking at the pictures) so fun!

That is great that your kids have been able to spend time with all of their cousins this summer! Being close in age definitely makes it more fun!

Janet - Rebecca is Kimmy's daughter, Josie, Rachel, & Jeffrey are Jill's kids, & Jacob, Jaxon, Hannah, & Elle are Casey's kids. Kimmy has 3 teenagers - Emma, Dakota, & Shane, Jill's oldest son is Clark, & Casey also has Jamison who is a bit younger than Lacey. I'm sure that's a bit confusing - but that' who's who!

Janet, Kimmy's oldest - Emma is approaching 21, so I guess she's not a teenager anymore!

I was at DSW in Green Valley today and I SWEAR I saw Kim's Emma and a younger version of Emma. They were obviously shopping for shoes and they looked just like the pictures I have seen of her. I ALMOST asked, but then thought that was sort of like being a cyber stalker, so I did not say anything and kept looking for Navy sandals, which I did not find...

Emma and Becca were at DSW yesterday! They were there buying me a pair of low, sensible shoes so I can go to church on Sunday. I'm not going to attempt crutches and high heels at the same time. I would fall for sure. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. My surgery on my broken ankle went well. Now I just have to endure life with crutches for the next seven weeks. LaRae--your blogs on the cousins are so fun! What beautiful children on both sides of the family.

Kim - I KNEW IT! Emma looks JUST LIKE YOU, but I'm sure you have heard that for 21 years. The 2 of them were laughing and having fun. Now, I wish I would have said something, but again, that may have weirded them out if I said I had seen them on the Internet! I hope the sensible shoes work out for you - I gave up any type of heal higher than 1 inch long ago - if not, I would be on crutches having fallen off the high heeled shoes. I hope you get to feeling better soon.....
